Norlock has been helping customers save money and reduce maintenance time with the installation and use of heat exchangers. Heat Recovery
In ice arenas, chemical plants, food processing or bottling plants, hospitals and universities, wherever there are refrigeration units in operation, the potential exists to reclaim waste heat from the high temperature compressor discharge vapors. This free waste heat can be used to produce abundant potable hot water. Water circulated through the Heat Reclaim unit picks up the waste heat of the refrigeration system and is then piped into a storage facility, or directly into the hot water supply.
Three Ways To Save
1. Save Money.
A heat reclaim system produces hot, potable water at no cost. Since you do not pay to heat water with electricity, gas or oil this system pays for itself over and over again.
Some typical uses are:
· Ice flooding and ice melting
· Showers
· Hydronic space heating
· Pressure hoses for cleanup
· Swimming pools
· Process water2. Save Energy.
Heat reclaim systems reduce power consumption by lowering refrigeration operating condensing pressures, resulting in a reduction in condenser and pump operating time. Dramatically reduces auxiliary hot water system requirements.
3. Save Time.
Maintenance time and costs are reduced. Using water to recover the superheat from the hot refrigerant vapor reduces fouling of refrigerant condensers. Condenser performance is improved, system efficiency is improved.
